Q: Is registration required?
A: Yes. All participants must register and purchase a full weekend pass.
Q: How many participants will you have?
A: Due to the room capacity, we can host up to 150 participants and cannot exceed this limit.
Q: Why does ITW have only four milongas?
A: Traditional tango marathons often include five milongas, but in practice many out-of-town dancers need to leave early on Sunday. For this reason, we decided to skip the early-Sunday milonga and keep the schedule relaxed — which also helps reduce the overall cost of attendance.
Q: What is your cancellation policy? Can I sell my pass if I need to cancel?
A: To help maintain a balanced and comfortable dance environment, we require registration with a tango partner. You may cancel your registration before June 24th and receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. Cancellations made 15–30 days before the event are eligible for a 50% refund. Unfortunately, no refunds can be issued for cancellations made less than 15 days before ITW. You may transfer your pass to another dancer of the same role (leader-to-leader or follower-to-follower), but please contact the organizers first to receive approval before arranging a transfer.
Q: How can I get to Ithaca?
A: If you’re driving from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, NYC, Washington DC, or Pittsburgh, Ithaca is an easy 5–6 hour trip. There are also bus connections. Ithaca has a small regional airport with seasonal flights from NYC, Washington, and Detroit. Alternatively, you can fly into Syracuse, NY, which offers many more connections and is just about one hour from Ithaca.
Q: Will food be served?
A: We will provide snacks and drinks during the milongas. For meals, we encourage you to explore Ithaca’s excellent local food scene — especially the Ithaca Farmers Market at the beautiful inlet location.
