The tango community in Ithaca has deep roots, going back at least to the late 1990s. Cornell students and local dancers founded Ithaca Tangueros as a student organization devoted to Argentine Tango, and the group quickly grew into a welcoming home for dancers across the region. Over the years, they hosted regular practicas, milongas, outdoor summer dances, and workshops that brought together students, locals, internationals, and visiting artists. The atmosphere has always been friendly, curious, and vibrant — a small city with a big heart for tango.
